Help us fund a new maternal Health Clinic in Battambang Cambodia The maternal death rate in Australia is 8 deaths for mother or child per 100,000 births , but in Cambodia the maternal death rate is a staggering 437 deaths per 100,000 making it the leading cause of death for women aged between 15 and 49. These are shocking figures and our project is raising funds to finance a pilot maternal clinic in Battambang Cambodia in partnership with the 2h Project headed by Kate Taylor. This project aims to provide : Comprehensive antenatal and postnatal clinic incorporating a shared care model for childbirth with the Battambang Referral Hospital Antenatal and postnatal checks to 7,000 vulnerable women Sexual and reproductive health education to 8,000 women living in rural and remote locations Supported childbirth for 500 vulnerable women Two full scholarships for the Bachelor of Midwifery at the University of Cambodia Training 400 traditional birth attendants Professional development by Australian specialists Help save the lives of mothers and babies in a country desperately in need by donating to our project. This is a 3 year project and the first of it’s kind in Cambodia. The Rotary Club of Kent Town has pledged to finance half the operating costs of the clinic and health programs.
